New Head Teacher Appointed to St Bees School
Following a rigorous recruitment and interview process, the Trustees and Full Circle Education Group are delighted to announce the appointment of Jeremy Hallows as Headteacher Designate of St Bees School. He will formally take up post in September 2017, and the school will reopen in September 2018.
Jeremy Hallows is currently Head of the Senior School at Bromsgrove School. With an excellent leadership history in co-educational boarding schools (including the world renowned Millfield School) and with the right credentials and passion to lead the school through this period of renaissance, he was chosen as the perfect appointment for this important post.
Mr Hallows said: “It is an honour to take on responsibility for the stewardship of St Bees at this incredibly exciting time in its history. I am looking forward to immersing myself in the life of the community and to engage with the many parents who have already expressed such strong interest in enrolling their children at St Bees next year. The educational landscape is changing rapidly, and we will embrace the best modern methods whilst promoting the all-important care, traditions and values which are at the heart of the best independent education and reflect Archbishop Grindal’s legacy.
Mark George (Chair of Trustees) said: “Jeremy’s blend of experience, knowledge and energy shone through during the demanding selection process, and inspired the Trustees. We were so impressed by the calibre of all applicants, and we are delighted that Jeremy has accepted the lead role at this key time in developing a sustainable future for this fabulous centre of education.”
Danny Wang (Managing Director of Full Circle Group) commented “It was clear that Jeremy has the International understanding, the respect for tradition and the zest for innovation to bring this unique project to life, and we look forward to putting in place the Full Circle vision for education with him at the helm. Jeremy has a very strong background and is the perfect leader to help equip young people as global citizens of the future.”
With hands on experience across the disciplines of teaching, inspection, commercial management and the marketing of independent schools, Mr Hallows will inspire the trust of future parents. He will build an excellent team to shape both character and academic development of pupils, and bring life back to St Bees School to re-establish, and secure for the long term, its international reputation for excellence.
